The Kentucky Derby is this Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Churchill Downs.  It is the first jewel (race) of the Triple Crown; the first of the three big races.  (Kentucky Derby - first jewel; Preakness - second jewel; Belmont Stakes - third and last jewel)
